TraceLoop

About

Built in Brentford by people who carried the pager.

TraceLoop exists because observability tooling failed the people who need it most: engineers woken at 3am, staring at four consoles that each hold a third of the truth. We build the single timeline we wished we had.

Our Story

From one bad incident to 48 petabytes a month

  1. 2019

    Founded in Brentford

Amrit and Bethan started TraceLoop after one 11-hour incident spent copy-pasting between four vendor consoles. The first prototype correlated logs and traces on one clock.

  2. 2021

    OpenTelemetry all-in

We bet the storage engine on OTLP wire formats before it was fashionable — and published our tail-sampling policies as open source.

  3. 2023

UK data residency & ISO 27001

Healthcare and finance customers pushed us to certify early. Field-level redaction and immutable audit trails shipped the same year.

  4. 2026

    48 PB a month

Today TraceLoop ingests 48 petabytes of telemetry monthly across UK and EU regions, with a 99.99% availability record we publish openly.

Values

What we optimise for

Built by pager-carriers

Every product decision is reviewed by engineers who have been on call. If a feature would not help at 3am, it does not ship.

Honest by default

Public status page, published uptime, plain-English pricing. Trust is the product as much as the software.

Efficient compute

Pre-aggregation and adaptive sampling exist partly for your bill — and partly because wasted compute is wasted carbon. We report both.

British engineering, European data

Designed and built in Brentford, hosted in UK and EU regions. Your telemetry never leaves the jurisdiction you choose.

Leadership

The team behind the timeline

Engineers, operators and researchers — most of us have spent more years on call than we care to admit.

Amrit Sharma

Co-founder & CEO

Ex-principal engineer at a FTSE-100 telco. Spent a decade on-call and vowed to fix the tooling.

Bethan Lloyd

Co-founder & CTO

Built distributed storage systems at scale. Author of three open-source OTel contrib plugins.

Callum Reid

VP Engineering

Previously led SRE for a UK retail bank serving 11M customers.

Dr. Farah Aziz

Head of Data Science

Time-series forecasting researcher turned anomaly-detection pragmatist.

Grace Mensah

Head of Customer Engineering

Fifteen years turning "it works on my machine" into observable production truth.

Tomasz Wieczorek

Head of Security & Compliance

UK cyber-security veteran; keeps TraceLoop honest on ISO 27001, GDPR and SOC 2.
